Ask a new question. I gave up trying to get my Win insiders preview copy to play the 'exit sound' assuming due to the low specs on my laptop.

I finally upgraded my main Win-7 high spec desktop last week and the 'exit sound' does not play either. I changed the registry to show 'exit windows' in the sounds dialog box and it will play with the test button.

I have searched for an answer to this and I am not the only one trying to fix this. Why has this setting been removed. Does a fix for this exist? I cannot be the only one of a few that misses this feature.

Here you will be able to see a list of sound events. Scroll down and click on System exit. Now come to your Desktop screen closing the registry editor and right click the Sound icon on the Taskbar and select Sounds.

Under program events you will be able to see the System exit option. Choose the event and change the sound from sounds drop down box. How satisfied are you with this reply?
